This is a social issue. i feel that it is social beause of the power of the media in us.Media has a lot to do with topic. also society has a big impact on people even though we dont notice. it kind of brainwashes us. media has a lot of power in us people. I think that we are not suppose to pay attention to the media because in reality the image that media has in u in not a realistic one. media is everywhere so its not easy to avoid it or not pay attention to it. for example it was stated "broadly speaking, these results corraborate previous work showing a decrease in mood and food intke following exposure to a commercial that used thin women(swami and smith 162)." this helps us understand that women too much attention to the things said in television then this starts affecting them not only psychological but also physical it makes us women to do bad things. then questions start popping up like for example, it was stated " what is the actual shape of female beauty? how does an attractive female really look(fisher and voracek 2006)?" There is really no concrete answers to these questions obviously there has to be a realistic answer not the image that exist nowadays, which is impress to us in society. a quote that got stuck to me was "...it may come as a shick to realize that even the way we see our bodies s filtered through the lens of social values and beliefs(ortiz cofer 393)." i mean nowadays it is not a shock that this is happening. it is not a shock that this is happening. it is not a shock that this is happening. it is not a shock that theres many bad things going on for example eating disorders for example people starving themselves or just making and then vomiting. There are many perspectives in this issue for exmple, it may be seen as an economic issue and say that people waste their money in expensive surgeries. The problem with this perspective is that people may not be against it because they are beneffiting for example the doctors. But also their is the counter perspective of it which people will fight against it and say that it is too expensive to be having this surgeries which are too expensive. Some even get help from the government which are unneccessary expenses. Another perspective may be cultural which may say that if we are so into culture why we pay attention to the media but yet others state the contrary that the media affects everybody not just certain people. It was claim "you might assume that because muslim womrn traditionally dont diplay our bodies, we dont hold them as important or feel connected to them...)Haydar 405)". This means that even though she is from a religion she still respects herself
